The Cathedral of Christ the Light, Oakland, California

I went for an early foggy morning motorcycle ride this morning. It was too cold and wet to ride up in the hills, so I thought I would check out the beautiful church around Lake Merritt. I have been eyeing this gorgeous building for a while and was thrilled to find it was open on a Memorial Day. It was also nice that they didn't have a service going on, so I could take pictures of it mostly empty.

The light and quiet was immense. It immediately sushes you and surrounds you with calm. There were two incredible organs on either wall, I will definitely be coming back to hear what that sounds like during a service.
